Global MPI

The global MPI was developed in 2010 by OPHI together with the Human Development Report Office of UNDP, to measure acute multidimensional poverty in over 100 developing countries.

OPHI now updates the global MPI figures twice a year, and provides full details of deprivations: by indicator, by subnational regions and groups; and over time. These data can be downloaded as MS Excel spreadsheets. An interactive databank lets users design their own data visualization images using MPI data sources. Briefings are also available for individual countries.
